Dishoek: Manschappenbunker 622 (2/3)

On November 1, 1944, this battery was under heavy fire including some intense fighting. This is still clearly visible in this bunker which has a lot of damage. A Typhoon fighter plane fired two rockets on that first day of November and the results of this impact are still there. At the two entrances you can also see the marks of allied commands’ automatic firearms.

Please note!: The bunker is located in the dunes of Strand Koudekerke. To reach the bunker you have to go up a long staircase and walk through the dune sand.
