Dishoek: Manschappenbunker 622 (1/3)

You will find a personnel bunker type 622 in the bunker row at Dishoek. It is one of the most common bunkers in the Netherlands. On the outside of this bunker you can still see the damage of a ‘Typhoon missile’ and the impact of 20 mm bullets from an aircraft gun.

It is very likely that a certain soldier named Hein Höfel was present in this bunker and there is a chance that he was also executed here. After the fighting in November 1944, items were found, including some personal belongings of this soldier.
