Stelling 46 (Widerstandsnest 46), belonged to the outer land front of the German Festung (fortress) Hoek van Holland. Three of the eight bunkers still remain including a bunker for troops (621), ammunition (134) and a mortar (Bauform 206). During WW2, the fortress defended part of the 11 kilometer long tank moat. The ammunition and mortar bunker can be visited during Bunker Day. The manschappenbunker serves as the foundation of a house and can therefore only be seen from the outside.
In the munitions bunker is an exhibition with the theme ‘Fragile Landscape’. There is also a shuttle service on the former tank moat between Stelling 46 and 34. More information can be found below.
