Museum Bergen Airport

The military airfield in Bergen was built in 1939 for the imminent war. The first German bombers appeared on May 10th 1940 and carried out a three quarter hour bombing there. After the German take-over, the Wehrmacht constructed a number of light bunkers. There are still some (partially intact) 7WNs and a few separate bunkers around the airfield.

The communication/telephone bunker was used by the German Luftwaffe who were based at Bergen Airport. It is a unique bunker with a gas lock. The bunker is now a museum with a lot of photo material about Bergen Airport, multiple aircraft parts, engines and a special piece of V-1. During Bunker Day, there will be various army vehicles in front of the museum.
