Bunkermuseum Vlissingen: Observation bunker type 143

This type 143 observation bunker can be found at the Oranjemolen in Vlissingen. It was built in 1943 as an observation post for an artillery battery. The reinforcement of the dike in 2001 also saw the bunker made accessible to the general public. The bunker has been completely restored including the original periscope. On November 1st, 1944, Allied commandos entered the neighbouring harbour moving on from there to liberate Vlissingen.
