The bunker museum on Ameland is an unmanned museum and can be found in the dunes to the west of the lighthouse in Hollum. The former kitchen bunker has been set up as a small museum. In the first section, an artwork by Jes van der Bijl commemorates all war victims. In the middle part visitors are transported back to the war in a room filled with special finds, performances and stories of Ameland residents who experienced the war first hand. In the last space, images of the war on the island are shown in chronological order on a diorama. Visitors quickly get an accurate impression of the course of the war on Ameland.
