Bunker Bremen
This ammunition bunker is part of the German Coastal Battery Vineta. It now houses an information center of the Netherlands Military Coastal Defense Museum. The museum features an exhibition on the resistance.
Bremen is the German nickname given to this type Fl246 bunker. It is an ammunition bunker and served during the Second World War as a storage facility for ammunition for the coastal artillery in the Vineta Dunes.
During the Cold War, the bunker was used as a command center for the Mine Observation Service in the Waterway, Scheur, and Maasmond region.
Bunker Hamburg
This former German ammunition bunker, part of the Atlantic Wall, was used by the Royal Netherlands Navy during the Cold War as a communication center to track Russian ships in the North Sea. The bunker remains in its original state from that time. It is therefore a true time capsule.
The bunker is now part of the Netherlands Military Coastal Defense Museum (Foundation Fort aan den Hoek van Holland).
