Visit Atlantikwall Museum Den Haag (Kijkduin) – Gangenstelsel WN 67 HL

The greater part of this enormous complex was demolished for the construction of the shopping center and the flats behind it. However, a portion of the original complex remains in the dunes behind the NH Atlantic Hotel. This section housed, among other things, the Flugwache, a unit of the Luftwaffe tasked with scanning the airspace for enemy aircraft.

The Oranjehotel is the nickname for the Scheveningen prison during Second World War. Between 1940-1945, the German occupier held more than 25,000 people here for interrogation and trial: resistance members, but also Jews, communists and Jehovah's Witnesses. The complex was already called 'Oranjehotel' during the war.
