This air raid shelter was built in 1968, during the Cold War, for 600 people: 300 from the Royal Netherlands Navy barracks itself and 300 from the moored naval vessels. It's unique that it can be opened to the public on Bunker Day. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Defence emptied it upon departure, but visitors get a wonderful impression of its purpose and use during the guided tours.
