Play- and Bunker Park Groede Podium

Groede Podium is a perfect location for the whole family. Children can play around on the tree trunks and adventurous play equipment. They won’t get tired of playing on the play cubes, climbing tower, suspension bridges and in the water playground! Between the play equipment are bunkers as silent witnesses of the Second World War (1939-1945). They are an important part of the park and make it extra exciting! There is also a petting zoo and deer park.

Playing makes you hungry. In restaurant ‘t Hoofdkwartier you can some tasty drinks and food.

Stutzpunkt Groede

When soldiers of the Canadian 7th Infantry liberated Groede and the surrounding area on October 25th 1944, they were surprised to find a well-camouflaged German bunker ‘village’, part of the Atlantic Wall, just outside the village itself. It appears to be an ordinary village with streets and houses, but in reality it is the regional headquarters and ‘Stützpunkt’ Groede.
