Sperre Arendsduin: Kitchen bunker

The Widerstandsnest 53 formed the northwestern entrance (Sperre) to the Festung Hoek van Holland. The three bunkers that you can visit are: Barracks bunker 501, Artillery bunker 676 and a Kitchen bunker.

Bunker complex Rijksdorp

During the Second World War, bunker complex Rijksdorp was the center for German command in the area from Noordwijk to Scheveningen.

Bunker Museum IJmuiden (CLOSED)

During Bunker Day, the Bunker Museum IJmuiden is closed due to the large number of personnel deployed at the Schnellbootbunker on the grounds of Cebo Holland B.V.

Oranjemolen observation bunker

This type 143 observation bunker can be found at the Oranjemolen in Vlissingen. It was built in 1943 as an observation post for an artillery battery.

MG bunker type 630

MG stands for machine gun. Positioned at the bunker, the weapon was able to cover the canal, the Scheldewerf and the bridge to the wharf.

Bunker 618

Toorenvliedt is the only intact divisional headquarters in the Netherlands and the most complete one within the Atlantic Wall.

Bunkermuseum Zoutelande

There is a type 502 barracks bunker and a type 143 observation bunker in the dunes of Zoutelande, part of the ‘Stützpunkt Lohengrin’. The Zoutelande Bunkermuseum is located in both bunkers.

Dishoek: Munitions bunker M145 (2/2)

This bunker has considerable damage on the outside. This damage was not caused by grenades or rockets, but by a test explosion when there were plans to demolish the bunker.

Dishoek: Manschappenbunker 622 (3/3)

This personnel bunker type 622 was partly buried in sand during the heavy fighting on November 1st in 1944. This probably resulted in the beautiful current state of being unlike the other bunkers in these dunes.

Artillery bunker type 612

This type 612 gun bunker was equipped with a cannon, mounted on a carriage, that was used to fire parallel to the coastline.

Bunker Bremen

This munitions bunker is part of the German Vineta battery and is currently home to the Nederlands Militair kustverdedigingsmuseum (Dutch Military Coastal Defence Museum).
