In Rijswijk, you can find the former complex of the Dutch Civil Defense Organization, known as ‘Bescherming Bevolking’. It is a unique location, where it seems as if time stood still since the Cold War. Several bunkers onthe complex can be entered, including a Küver 413acrew bunker and a SK radio- and monitoring station from WWII and German constructions for the benefitof the Luftgau Holland. But even more special is the nuclear bunker which served as a command post for the Bescherming Bevolking (population protection) from 1969. All of the bunkers are Furnished, some aren’t complete yet, but there is plenty to see.
