Museum Bescherming Bevolking (Bunkercomplex Overvoorde)

In the Funkhorchstelle in Park Overvoorde, the German Luftwaffe intercepted enemy radio messages. The site was part of the Englandspiel with the associated espionage activities. About 90 Luftwaffe personnel lived and worked there. Later, during the Cold War period, the bunkers were expanded to house the Dutch Civil Defence (Bescherming Bevolking). Nowadays it is known as a museum.

On Bunker Day, the museum guides explain what each bunker’s function was during WW2 and later during the Cold War. They will also show you the measures taken to protect the population.
