This type V.F. 7a munitions bunker was opened in 2016 as Bunkermuseum Jansje Schong. The bunker has been fully refurbished and is therefore easily accessible. The museum consists of two rooms. Amongst the collection you will find some rare pieces such as Mijn Kampf, a sign from Hitler's Reichs Chancellery, a chair with a story behind it, parts of the A for Apple dam buster that crashed in Castricum, a collection of bayonets with identical serial numbers and original fortifications from Egmond beach. In the film room, a poignant film about young German soldiers conscripted to demine after the war will be shown. Remains of the mines they removed will also be on display.
Another remarkable feature is the concrete doors in the bunker. On Bunkerdag, enthusiastic volunteers will gladly tell you more about the bunker and the war history of Egmond.
