In order to provide the soldiers within the Stützpunktgruppe with good medical care, a large hospital complex (Truppenverbandplatz) was built in early 1944, just outside Ouddorp.
The complex consists of three masonry ‘infirmary wards’ with attached water storage. Rainwater was collected on the roof of the bunkers and stored in large 1,700 liter tanks. The water was used for flushing the toilets, washing and cleaning the bunkers. Hygiene was of great importance in a hospital. In addition, there were two bunkers that were used as an operating room and as a residence for the doctors and nursing staff. There is also a heavy concrete telephone bunker G7 against the complex. To clarify the function of the buildings, red crosses were painted on a light background in various places.
The hospital complex is still almost entirely there. In 2020 there are three hospital wards, two accommodation bunkers and three toilet blocks. The two accommodation bunkers are included in the bunker forest. This is under maintenance at Staatsbosbeheer. One of the two bunkers is set up as a bat shelter and closed off because of the peace for this protected animal ear
