Exhibition ‘The history of Valkenburg Airport’

In the permanent exhibition the history of Valkenburg Airport (1939-2006) is told. Starting with the May days of 1940 until closing due to budget cuts in 2006.

The collection contains countless photos, models and small objects, but also, for example, the airplane staircase along which many heads of state descended and a complete aircraft engine. There are also objects that were recently excavated during work, such as parts of German and Dutch aircraft.

An important place is occupied by a meter long, very detailed and historically correct model with hangars and airplanes. It was still under construction in September 2021. The first parts can now be viewed.
