In the dike of the Preekhilpolder along the Grevelingenmeer, there is a bunker position datingfrom 1942. It is an infantry position that wasdesignated by the Germans as the Widerstandsnest 222 H. A bombproof personnel bunker of the type 501, a so-called Gruppenunterstand, was built in thestrongpoint. This residential bunker was intended for10 men and is bombproof with walls and a roof of 2 mthick reinforced concrete. The bunker now serves as abat bunker but is open to the public once during Bunker day. Attached to the bunker are a storage area for a water tank, a food storage area and a gun shed. Thereare also two small ammunition storage areas near thebunker. This simple bunker complex is unique in itselfbecause all associated objects are still present
