The Atlantic Wall Center was built within the old administration office, within the original walls. The original building has been left intact.
In 1942, the navy established an artillery park on the former Galgenveld in Huisduinen for the storage and repair of weapons and other materials. This park consisted of warehouses and a machine shop. The most representative buildings were the monumental gateway and the Administration Office, also known as the Lodging Building. It was popularly known as the Casino. This building featured unique entrances with staircases and colonnades.
The Atlantic Wall Center features an exhibition about the global history of the Atlantic Wall, presented in a timeline format. The war in Den Helder is depicted in display cases with images and audio, including interviews with Den Helder residents, and with photos and miniatures, along with the coastline of the entire Atlantic Wall.
