In the Kazemattenmuseum there is much to experience and see. The museum is completely furnished in the way it looked at that time. The exhibitions and stories are about the period of the building of the Afsluitdijk until the Cold War period. The purpose behind these exhibitions is to address and keep alive the knowledge about the historical events that took place around Kornwerderzand. What can you find here?
- A casemate made of wood and soil, as they existed in the Wons fortification.
- The Kazemat IV – Command casemate is dedicated to the war days in May 1940. From this casemate Captain Boers commanded the position. In the casemate is a Schwarzloze machine gun.
- Kazemat V – A Machine Gun casemate with a periscope. The story of the resistance in the area, weapon drops, and the story of the Lockheed Hudson that crashed is told.
- Kazemat VI – The Cannon casemate tells about the air war around the IJsselmeer and the liberation.
- In the Kazemat VII – a Searchlight casemate, you can see the complete searchlight installation consisting of a spotlight and mirrors. This casemate has the Cold War theme.
- In the Kazemat XIV – a Kitchen casemate and anti-aircraft depot, the story about the mobilization and the Wons fortification, which was located a few kilometers off the Frisian coast, is told.
- An animation film about the Navy and the gunboat Hr. Ms. Johan Maurits of Nassau.
- German guardroom with Information about the Atlantic Wall.
- German bunker of the Type 667 with the German construction number 1492. Equipped with a 5 cm Kampfwagen cannon.
